2020 Bannow & Rathangan Agricultural Show

With the ongoing crisis across the globe due to the coronavirus, the organising committee have taken the decision to cancel the 2020 Show due to take place on July 9th. With such uncertainty about the virus, we couldn’t ensure the safety and wellbeing of all involved with our show.  As our show date draws nearer, it was impossible for the committee to meet safely to prepare and plan for the event. It was not a decision that we made lightly, but we feel it is the correct one at this moment in time.

At the moment, all of our wonderful volunteers and committee are cocooning and self-isolating to keep safe. Our show depends on this volunteerism to continue and to prosper. I wish them all well as they do their utmost to keep loved ones safe.

Our Sponsors play an important part in the success of our Show. So many businesses are now in lockdown and waiting to see when they can reopen. We hope all goes well for them. We wish them well. To all the businesses who support our show, our thoughts are with you.

So many businesses showcase their business on Show Day by taking a stand on the field. This is an important part of the show.  We hope to see you in 2021.

We think of all the people who are working so diligently in a very difficult situation, in retail and in health care, so that our needs are met. We salute you for your courage in these unprecedented times.

We hope to see you at our Show next year. In the meantime, Stay Safe. Let’s do what is asked of us so that we can see our way forward. Let’s look for something positive to take from this crisis.

Take Care,

Betty Stafford (Chairperson)
